The American Polish Engineering Association (APEA)
was formed in 1974 to fulfill a need in the Polish-American technical community. A group of engineers
and related societies wanted an independent organization in which they could communicate and network
with each other.
Many disciplines of the engineering and related sciences are represented by the membership. Most
members reside in the metropolitan Detroit, Michigan area, although our ranks include members across
the United States and Canada.
From September through May, the APEA sponsors a variety of events, such as technical dinner meetings,
general membership meetings and tours of local facilities.
The APEA sponsors an annual scholarship for a graduating high school student entering a university
to study engineering or a related science. Students applying for the APEA
Scholarship must be residents of Southeastern Michigan. Applications are
sent to area high school advisors or students may contact APEA for scholarship
information (see Officers page for email address).
Our series of Tribute booklets are produced annually and honor a variety of Polish/American scientists
and engineers who have made a significant impact in their respective fields.
